Kicking off the SDLC Simulation with a collaborative project initiation session focused on building a shared understanding of the business problem, users, constraints, and intended value. Participants will work through the early stages of project planning by developing the Product Vision, defining scope and objectives, reviewing the Business Case, and assessing project feasibility. Date: Saturday, August 22, 2026. Time: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM Eastern Time. Duration: 3 Hours.

Every successful project begins with a clear understanding of the problem it is intended to solve and the value it is expected to deliver.

In Meeting 1, participants will begin the SDLC Simulation by establishing the foundation for the project. Working collaboratively across different project roles, the team will examine the business need, identify the users and stakeholders involved, define the project scope, and establish clear objectives and goals.

The session will introduce participants to the key activities involved in project initiation, including developing a Product Vision Statement, creating the Project Scope and Scope Statement, reviewing the Business Case, and conducting a Feasibility Assessment. Participants will also begin developing the project plan and schedule while aligning on the business need that will guide the work throughout the simulation.

The goal is to ensure that everyone begins the project with a shared understanding of what problem they are solving, why it matters, who it serves, what is within scope, and what success should look like.
